Beautiful Sights Of Killarney

by Christine Brookes on April 19, 2012

Visit Killarney and it’s going to be clear why, over time, artists and writers have come here to be inspired by its beauty. Nearby, Killarney National Park is legendary for its sheer range of biodiversity and its magnificent scenery. The Macgillycuddy’s Reeks lie to the west, around which there is a wide choice of routes to explore. Each level is catered for ; you can follow a trail circling Killarney town, which takes about 2 hours, or take a couple of days to challenge yourself with The Kerry Way, a 215km long route which starts in Killarney and circumnavigates the Ring of Kerry.

Many day trips operate in the area around Killarney, focussing on particular attractions. For instance, some focus on the Opening on Dunloe – a must if you want to see this area at its best. Others concentrate on Torc Waterfall, one of the most lovely waterfalls in Eire, and Ladies View, from which you can look out over the grace of the surrounding valley. There isn’t any doubt that having your own vehicle provides the most freedom with which to see all that Killarney has to supply ; however , there are still lots of options available if you do not have your own set of wheels. An old fashioned method to get around is to hire a standard jaunting-car. Or, you can catch a water bus or a coach to bring you around.
